Here and here are two good resources we found for research on voting in California.

KEVIN SHELLEY:
A REFORMER.

Kevin Shelley has been a reformer throughout his career. From his tenure as President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to his role as Assembly Majority Leader today, Kevin Shelley has demonstrated consistent leadership in the fight for change.

Celebrating enactment of Nursing Home Reform.
Author of the most important nursing home reform legislation in a generation, Shelley celebrated the bill's enactment with Gov. Gray Davis and his mother, Thelma Shelley.

And consistent skill for winning it.

As a San Francisco Supervisor, he led the drive to make local government more open, more accountable and more responsive -- and he authored one of the strongest local Sunshine Laws in the nation.

He wrote the ballot measure to create the San Francisco Ethics Commission -- and won voter approval for reforms now considered a model for municipal governments.

In the State Assembly, he has been a leading fighter for consumer protections -- from California's pioneering "Lemon Law" to the most significant nursing home reform in a generation. And this year he's on the frontlines again -- to reduce gun violence, protect our environment, and bring our voting system into the 21st Century.
